Rents based on RERA index

The RERA index published, mentions that a 1 bedroom in Muhaisnah 4 should be between 55k to 65k. The 2 bedroom should be between 70k and 75k. Did they mention anything about the size of the apartment, in terms of covered area ??

If thats the case, I wonder if NBAD will renegotiate the rents with us at the end of our current contracts (July '09).

I want to see if we can gather some momentum and ask NBAD to reduce the prices. Especially since there are many options available. Example 1 Br in Discovery Garden is up for 60k. A collegue of mine got a 1 Br in JBR for 80k. I've also heard rumors that the rent of a 1 Br in Old Town is close to 90k.

Besides, with problems in maintenance and etisalat, I would rather explore my options.

Unavailability of Etisalat Lines

Etisalat's delay in providing our area with basic necessaries, like telephone and internet lines, for close to a year has turned my patience into anger and frustration. Depriving the residents of this basic necessity explains why Etisalat's monopoly in UAE has lead to high communication prices and their bad customer service.

I have tried to contact Etisalat through all the right channels but all my efforts have fallen on black or white veils.

As residents, I also believe that we've been robbed of this utility by our builders and the Dubai Municipality, who in a rush to fill up their building forgot to mention to us that the building doesn't have the necessary lines.

Does any one have any clue when we might have this? If this is not done before the end of my contract, I will seriously consider relocating.

Nabeel.
